I will give an explanation of the method we are
using with the FLAmp program and why we have decided to do it the way we
are.
It is important that you have FLAmp running at the
start of the net and that RxID and TxID are turned on because of the
mode changes.
We needed the net control to be in control during
the FLAmp procedure so the net control will announce the mode change.
Net control will come back in the new mode, announce the change and then
QNE, ask all to be ready to receive the transmission. Net control will
then turn the net over to the
originating station and announce that the net is QRV, ready to receive
the transmission. The originating station will then send the traffic
after which the net control will again take charge of the net. Net
control will ask if anyone missed blocks send a 1 second “tune”, if you
copied all blocks, you need not do anything.
The 1 second “Tune” alerts net control that someone missed a
block and needs a repeat. If the net control hears a “tune” he will ask
the “tune” sender to listen for doubles and send a “Report”. At this
time, we only need 1 station to “report”. If there is more than 1
station that missed blocks, you may have missed the same block or
blocks, please stand by till the reporting station receives their
missing blocks.
The Originating station will be asked to fetch the missed blocks and do a repeat. If you missed the same blocks yours should also be filled from the first repeat. After the repeat the net control will again ask for a 1 second “tune” again and a report, you would then have the opportunity to report and get a fill if yours did not fill.
If no “tune” is heard net control will assume
everyone has copied 100% and return the net back to regular mode and
resume regular net operations.
If there are any questions or concerns about this
procedure, please let us know.
